Turner Motorsport will switch BMW M4 GT3 chassis to be on the grid for tomorrow’s second Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS race at Virginia International Raceway.

Confirmed in a stewards’ decision on Saturday evening, the Will Turner-led outfit will place its GT America powered by AWS chassis into Fanatec GT America action for Robby Foley and Justin Rothberg.

Turner received approval to switch chassis as a case of Force Majeure, following Foley’s race-ending accident in Race 1 that was triggered by the No. 38 ST Racing BMW of Neil Verhagen.

Fellow BMW factory driver Verhagen was served a drive-through penalty for incident responsibility.

The No. 29 Turner entry, which will first take part in Sunday morning’s GT America race with Rothberg, is expected to start from the rear of the 13-car Fanatec GT America starting field as a result of the chassis change.

Race 2 for Fanatec GT America gets underway Sunday at 2:15 p.m. EDT, with live coverage on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel and on Twitch.
