***Attempto Racing has completed it Blancpain GT Series lineup with the addition of Louis Machiels. The 45-year-old Belgian teams with Lamborghini Junior drivers Jeroen Mul and Max van Splunteren in the Endurance Cup, the latter sharing the same Lamborghini Huracán GT3 with Davide Valsecchi in the Sprint Cup.
***Machiels won the BES Pro-Am Cup in 2011 and 2012 with AF Corse. Attempto’s second car will see Patric Niederhauser and Daniel Zampieri behind the wheel, joined by Fabio Babini in the Endurance Cup.
***Besides its two Lamborghinis, Attempto will also enter a new Porsche 911 GT3 R in the Endurance Cup. Two-time ELMS GTE-Am champion Nicolas Armindo will be one of the drivers in the 991, while the French driver will also race one of Attempto’s Lamborghinis in ADAC GT Masters.
***Boutsen Ginion Racing is expected to move up to the Pro-Am class in the Blancpain Endurance Cup, as Julien Darras joins team regulars Karim Ojjeh and Olivier Grotz. 18-year-old Darras (Silver) came in fifth in the 2015 French Formula 4 championship. Boutsen Ginion did a rollout with its new BMW M6 GT3 at Circuit Zolder last Thursday.
***Kaspersky Motorsport will return to the Blancpain Endurance Cup this year with an AF Corse-run Ferrari 458 Italia GT3. With an unchanged lineup consisting of Riccardo Ragazzi, Alex Moiseev and Garry Kondakov the car will once again participate in the Am Cup. Marco Cioci joins the trio for the Total 24 Hours of Spa.
***David Perel will compete with Kessel Racing in the Blancpain Endurance Cup. The South African GT racer has signed a three-year deal with the Swiss team and will race a Ferrari 488 GT3 in the AM Cup.
***A provisional Blancpain GT Series entry list is expected to be released by SRO in the build up to this week’s official test at Paul Ricard.
