Oliver Gavin will take part in this year’s Total 24 Hours of Spa, having been announced as an additional driver in one of Barwell Motorsport’s Lamborghini Huracan GT3s for the twice-around-the-clock endurance classic.
The Corvette factory driver on-loan will join Blancpain Endurance Cup full-season drivers Mark Poole, Richard Abra and Joe Osborne at the wheel of the Pro-Am class entry for the July 28-31 event.
Gavin, who is coming off GT Le Mans class victory in the Rolex 24 at Daytona, is a five-time 24 Hours of Le Mans class winner and is set for his second 24H Spa start, after taking part in the 2009 event in a Corvette C6.R.
“I was delighted when I got the call from Barwell Motorsport asking me to join it in its Lamborghini for the Spa 24 Hours,” Gavin said.
“I’ve known Mark Lemmer and Chris Needell of Barwell for some time and they have a great history at the Spa event in the Pro Am class, and I am very much looking forward to the chance of adding another 24-hour classic to my repertoire.”
Tom Kimber-Smith will join Barwell’s second Huracan GT3 for Spa alongside Leo Machitski, Marco Attard and Marco Mapelli.
