Boutsen VDS has enlisted Mercedes-AMG factory drivers Maximilian Goetz and Jules Gounon to spearhead its Sprint Cup title bid in Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS.
The Belgian squad, which switched from Audi over the winter, will field a pair of Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evos for the sprint championship, which kicks off at Brands Hatch on May 4-5.
Goetz and Gounon last shared a car during the Lenovo Gulf 12 Hours, when a podium finish with 2 Seas Motorsports allowed the Andorran driver to seal the Intercontinental GT Challenge title.
That came on top of a Fanatec GT Europe Endurance Cup drivers’ title for Gounon, while Goetz previously won the Sprint Cup crown in 2014 with HTP Motorsport.
Boutsen VDS also confirmed its driver crew in Silver Cup for both the Sprint and Endurance rounds, with Aurelien Panis, Cesar Gazeau and Roee Meyuhas all remaining with the team for a second consecutive season.
GetSpeed, 2 Seas Reveal Endurance Cup Crews
GetSpeed Performance and 2 Seas have also announced the first of their driver crews for the Endurance Cup rounds.
The Adam Osieka-led GetSpeed stable will field three cars in the Endurance Cup, with one entry in Pro, one in Silver Cup and one in Gold Cup.
While the driver crew for its Pro entry will be revealed at a later date, the team has confirmed that Anthony Bartone, James Kell and Yannick Mettler will pilot its No. 3 car in Silver Cup.
Elsewhere, Al Faisal Al Zubair returns to Endurance Cup competition after a one-year absence, teaming up with factory driver Mikael Grenier and Dominik Baumann aboard the No. 777 car, which will be run under the Al Manar Racing by GetSpeed banner.
Also in Gold Cup, 2 Seas will field the No. 60 Mercedes-AMG for Isa Al Khalifa, Lewis Williamson and Martin Kodric.
