The Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup finale at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Saudi Arabia will be pushed back by one week, SRO Motorsports Group has confirmed.
The event, billed as the 6 Hours of Jeddah, was originally scheduled for Nov. 22-23 when it was first announced by SRO founder and CEO Stephane Ratel at last year’s CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa.
However, the series confirmed on Tuesday that the decision has been made to push back the event date by a week, now taking place on Nov. 29-30.
The move was made largely from a logistical standpoint, with the aim of “giving teams further time to prepare” for the season finale and “reduce pressure on freight at the end of a busy season.”
The schedule change will result in an even larger gap between the season finale in Saudi Arabia and the penultimate Endurance Cup round at Monza, with the two events now separated by ten weeks.
The new date also avoids a clash with the Lamborghini World Finals event at Jerez, which is due to take place on the Nov. 22-24 weekend.
The decision also impacts the GT4 European Series powered by Rafa Racing Club, which will also work through its season finale at the Jeddah Circuit with a pair of one-hour races.
SRO has stated that further event details will be released at a later date.
The Endurance Cup season, which kicked off with a three-hour race at Paul Ricard won by ROWE Racing, resumes with the blue riband event at Spa-Francorchamps on June 26-30.
