Corvette factory driver Alexander Sims is set for his first Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup outing in eight years as part of Madpanda Motorsport’s newly upgraded Pro-class lineup at the Brands Hatch season opener.

Sims will share the No. 90 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo with team owner Ezequiel Perez Companc, with the Barcelona-based squad making its Pro debut as a result of the British driver’s addition to the lineup.

The team had initially entered its car into Silver Cup, as shown on the entry list released last week, but will now join Boutsen VDS and Winward Racing in the top class instead.

Sims, meanwhile, is set for his first Sprint Cup appearance since 2016, when he formed a full-season pairing with Philipp Eng aboard a ROWE Racing BMW M6 GT3.

Before joining Corvette for a full-season effort in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Sims primarily raced BMW machinery in GT3 competition.

This came as part of a highly successful tenure as a factory driver for the Munich marque that included overall victories in both the Nürburgring 24 and the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa.

However, he also raced McLaren and Lamborghini machinery in what was then called the Blancpain Endurance Series and the British GT Championship.
