Car Collection Motorsport will make its first GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS appearance outside of the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa for three years in the Portimao season finale.

While the squad again raced at Spa earlier this year, after winning the Pro-Am class in 2025, it has not tackled a regular GTWC Europe round since contesting a full season in 2023.

It has secured a place on the Portimao grid at short notice and two of its Spa drivers — Porsche-contracted Joel Sturm and Reinhold Krahn — will be joined at the wheel of a Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo by International GT Open title contender Pietro Armanni.

The trio will be entered into the Bronze Cup division for the three-hour Portimao Endurance Cup contest.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity at short notice to compete once again in the GT World Challenge Europe; it’s also great that Pietro will be racing for us for the first time, having put in impressive performances in the International GT Open,” said team manager Romina Schmidt.

“Together with him, Joel and Reinhold, we aim to fight for a strong result in the Bronze Cup.”

Sturm added: “Our line-up is very strong and I hope we can spring a few surprises.”

Armanni described GTWC Europe as the “most competitive and high-calibre GT championship there is” and is relishing the chance to make his debut.

“For this race, the aim is quite simply to deliver a strong performance together with the team, improve my driving skills and make the most of every aspect of the car to extract as much pace as possible – all whilst avoiding mistakes and driving as consistently as possible,” he added.

The Car Collection Porsche is the second extra 911 GT3 R Evo on the Portimao grid after Razoon – more than racing also announced plans to run an additional car on Thursday.
