SRO E-Sports GT Series will organize a two-hour esports race at Monza on March 29, uniting real-world and sim drivers to raise money for charity.

The race will be run on the Assetto Corsa Competizione platform in a joint program between SRO Motorsports Group’s E-Sports GT Series, Kunos Simulazioni and Ak Informatica.

It will get underway at 2 p.m. CET next Sunday, featuring 40 drivers, who will all be asked to make a minimum donation of €15 towards the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, which supports the World Health Organization and partners in their response to the global pandemic.

Monza was supposed to open SRO’s GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS season on April 19 until the event was canceled earlier this month due to the COVID-19 situation.

The esports race is open to invited real-world drivers, sim drivers and celebrities, along with five wildcard entries chosen through a public hot-lap contest, open from Monday to Thursday.

Registration begins on Monday and the Free Practice server opens on Friday. Free Practice on Sunday begins at 10 a.m. with qualifying at 1:15 p.m. ahead of the race start at 2 p.m.

More information will soon be available on the series’ website: www.sro-esports.com.
