SUPER GT has revealed a provisional calendar for the 2027 season featuring a major date change for the second fixture at Fuji Speedway.
Published on Friday ahead of this weekend’s Fuji 300km, the schedule features the same roster of six domestic venues, plus Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, which is poised to return after this year’s visit to the track was cancelled.
While the series’ first visit to Fuji remains in its usual Golden Week slot in early May, the return fixture has been shifted from its usual place as the fourth round of the season in early August to the penultimate round in early November.
That race essentially takes the date previously occupied by Mobility Resort Motegi, which will host the season finale on the later-than-usual date of Nov. 21.
Elsewhere, SUPER GT’s annual visit to Suzuka has been moved up to Aug. 1, making it the fourth round of the season, and spacing it out further from the Suzuka 1000km Intercontinental GT Challenge event in early September.
There is also now a two-week gap between the Suzuka 1000km and SUPER GT’s visit to Sportsland Sugo, which are only a week apart on this year’s calendar.
While not yet officially confirmed, the appearance of the Suzuka 1000km in SUPER GT’s official announcement suggests a possibility of points being awarded to GT300 runners there. Further details are expected to be revealed in the near future.
Okayama International Circuit continues to host the opening race, but on the earlier date of April 4 as result of Formula 1’s Japanese Grand Prix moving from March to April.
Official pre-season testing is expected to take place in March at regular venues Okayama and Fuji, but exact dates have yet to be announced.
