IMSA News & Notes, 11.25

Off-season news and notes from drivers, teams in the IMSA paddock…

***The Taylor brothers have released their latest music video “Check Yo Self – Car Lot Edition.” It features Jordan and Ricky, plus Mark Jensen and Brant DeLongy, as well as a cameo appearance from multi-time IMSA champion Wayne Taylor on the guitar!

***Jonathan Bomarito turned his first laps in Mazda’s SKYACTIV-D prototype last week at Daytona. It marked his first experience of the Lola-based prototype, having returned to the SpeedSource squad following his stint with the now-defunct factory SRT Motorsports operation.

***A number of IMSA teams completed tests at Sebring International Raceway last weekend, including TRG-AMR, Rebel Rock Racing and Mantella Autosport.

***TRG had a total of six Aston Martins and a dozen drivers in attendance, including several prospective drivers to join the Kevin Buckler-led squad in 2015. The team came off a successful partners’ summit at Daytona International Speedway earlier in the week.

***Mantella Autosport was also on hand at Sebring with its pair newly acquired Camaro Z/28.Rs, sporting fresh liveries. The Canadian team announced last month its switch to the pony car for 2015, with Anthony Mantella, Mark Wilkins and Martin Barkey three of the four confirmed drivers so far.

***Fellow Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge squad Rebel Rock was also in attendance, with Jim Jonsin being joined by Corey Lewis and Tristan Vautier for the test in the team’s Porsches.

***Full-season TUDOR United SportsCar Championship entries are due on Monday. IMSA will then review entries and release entry lists by mid-December.
