Tom Dillmann praised the consistency of Michelin’s LMP2 tire after he and Jeremy Clarke delivered overall victory for Inter Europol Competition in Sunday’s Chevrolet Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
The No. 43 Oreca 07 Gibson completed a near-perfect weekend, as Clarke set a LMP2 track lap record on Saturday before the pairing converted pole into a 9.796-second win.
Outside of Daytona, CTMP produces some of the highest tire loads LMP2 cars experience. Its sustained high-speed corners place stress on the tires over a stint.
Despite those demands, Dillmann said the Michelin tire maintained its performance during his run.
“It’s probably the most challenging track of the season,” said Dillmann. “Super high speed, a lot of g-force, a lot of load on the tires.
“But we basically have no deg. It’s a 40 laps stint and there isn’t much deg. So, pretty good tires.”
Clarke controlled the opening portion before handing the car to Dillmann.
Strategy and a caution moved the No. 43 car out of the lead, but Dillmann recovered the position with a pass on Alex Quinn before managing the final stages and a late splash of fuel.
The victory followed Clarke’s 1:07.904 qualifying lap, which broke a CTMP LMP2 record that had stood since 2019.
The result demonstrated the team’s performance throughout the weekend, from peak pace over one lap to consistency across an entire race stint.
The win moved Dillmann and Clarke to second in the LMP2 standings and continued a strong season for Inter Europol.
For Dillmann, who also won at CTMP in 2024, the latest result reinforced the team’s strength at the Canadian circuit.
“Winning in ’24, a near miss in ’25 with bad luck and now winning again,” he said. “It seems we like this place.”
