Ryan Eversley will make his TUDOR United SportsCar Championship Prototype Challenge debut, having been confirmed in BAR1 Motorsports’ Oreca FLM09 for this weekend’s Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix.

The Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge front-runner will team with Doug Bielefeld in the No. 88 entry for the two-hour sprint race. Eversley takes the place of Gaston Kearby, who was suspended by IMSA for one race following an accident at the Twelve Hours of Sebring.

The announcement was made Tuesday on MRN Radio’s “Sports Car Insider” show.

“For some crazy reason they picked me!” Eversley joked. “It’s just one of those things that shows you relationships can mean a lot in your career, of who you know and who you impress and all that stuff. I’m definitely going to give it my best out there.”

The Brian Alder-owned BAR1 squad scales back to a single-car program for Monterey, but with a field stacked with a total of 10 entries which will fight for the overall win in the first ever PC/GTD race.
