CEFC Manor TRS Racing has added Chinese drivers Weiron Tan and Yuan Bo to its test and reserve driver program, the team has confirmed.

Pro Mazda Championship winner Tan and Asian Le Mans Series driver Bo join the previously announced Andreas Wirth as test and reserve drivers for the Chinese-backed team, which has two Oreca 07 Gibson LMP2 cars entered for next month’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.

“We know Weiron from our LMP2 test in Bahrain last year where he impressed us with his speed and professional approach,” said Manor President and Sporting Director Graeme Lowdown.

“These additions to our driver program strengthen our presence in the Chinese region which is important for us.”

Tan said: “This is an exciting step forward in my racing career and I can’t wait to work for this Chinese team.”

“As a Chinese driver it’s not easy to race in an event like WEC so I will value this opportunity to race and to learn,” Bo added.
