JCR Motorsports will expand into a three-car GTS operation in Pirelli World Challenge this year, fielding Maserati GT4 cars.

Fred Roberts, Walter Bobko and team owner Jeff Courtney have been confirmed as drivers.

Despite being a partial-season entrant last year, Courtney finished seventh in the GTS standings, highlighted by runner-up finishes at Virginia International Raceway and Road America.

“I am very excited by the pace our Maserati showed last season and am looking to have a competitive GTS season in 2018,” he said.

“We’ve been working hard with testing and car prep, but we are well aware of how competitive 2018 will be with all of the new talent and GT4 manufacturers on the grid.”

Roberts, who will compete in the GTSA category added: “Last season was a little bittersweet as I was just starting to really get a feel for my Maserati GT4, and then my season ended. I am really looking forward to getting back at it.”

Bobko, meanwhile, is slated for a partial-season effort in the team’s third Maserati GT4.

“My expectations for the season are to just enjoy every moment as I race on historic tracks beside world class drivers,” he said.

The three JCR entries make up the record 28-car GTS grid for this weekend’s season-opener at St. Pete.
