Riccardo Pera is set for his third full season in the FIA World Endurance Championship GTE-Am class with a third different team after signing with GR Racing.
The 22-year-old Italian confirmed in a social media post that he will team up with Ben Barker and Mike Wainwright in the No. 86 Porsche 911 RSR-19.
After a couple of preliminary outings during the 2018-19 season that included a class win at Spa-Francorchamps, Pera joined Dempsey-Proton Racing full-time for the 2019-20 WEC.
He then switched to Team Project 1 last year, sharing a Porsche with Matteo Cairoli and Egidio Perfetti.
Pera fulfills the need for an FIA Silver-rated driver at GR Racing after the team’s 2021 Silver, Tom Gamble, was upgraded to Gold status ahead of the 2022 season.
GTE-Am lineups require at least one Bronze-rated driver and one Bronze or Silver.
Bronze competitor Wainwright and Gold-rated Barker are set for their sixth consecutive season together in the GTE-Am class. Barker is also contesting the Asian Le Mans Series with Porsche GT3 customer Dinamic Motorsport.
