BMW’s new M4 GT4 is set for its competition debut in this weekend’s Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie round.

The G82-range M4, which will replace the existing M4 GT4 in the German manufacturer’s lineup next year, has been confirmed to take part in Saturday’s 53rd annual Adenauer Rundatrecken-Trophy on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

The driver lineup and the team that will field the car have not yet been disclosed by BMW.

The car, which broke cover last December, has been completing various tests in Europe ahead of its full customer rollout in 2023. It features parts derived from the new production M4 and adopts race-developed elements of the road car’s systems including the engine and transmission.

Some elements have been borrowed from the new BMW M4 GT3 such as the CFC roof and the rear wing design.

Saturday’s race will mark the second NLS round of the season following the cancelation of NLS2 earlier this month due to snow.
