Lamborghini has teased its next-generation GT3 car ahead of its official launch.
The Italian manufacturer posted a picture to its Instagram page on Friday, providing a sneak peek of the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2, which is set to make its race debut in next year’s Rolex 24 at Daytona.
The following text was accompanied by the photo: “Our story began on April 2015 with our first GT3 win in Monza. The STOry continues…”
Sportscar365 believes the capitalization of STO in the word ‘story’ could indicate that the EVO2 will be based on the automaker’s Huracan STO model, which has been touted as an ultra high-performance track day car.
In a previous interview, Head of Lamborghini motorsport Giorgio Sanna told Sportscar365 that he envisions the EVO2 to to be “very different” from the current Huracan GT3 Evo, although still offering customer teams the opportunity to upgrade from their existing machinery.
The car will be eligible four a four-year run through the end of the 2026 season.
No word has been given on when the official unveil of the EVO2 will come.
