IMSA has tweaked the Balance of Performance for all four LMDh manufacturers for next weekend’s Motul Course de Monterey powered by Hyundai N at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

Released in a technical bulletin on Thursday, changes have been made to all four cars’ minimum weights, along with maximum power adjustments and maximum stint energy to three of the four GTP class brands.

Compared to the last round at Long Beach, the BMW M Hybrid V8 has undergone the biggest change, with the Dallara-chassied prototype receiving a 4 kg weight break, although countered with a 3 kW reduction in power output and a 5 MJ reduction in energy.

BMW is the only GTP class model that’s yet to win in the new era, following victories for the Acura ARX-06 in the Rolex 24 at Daytona, Cadillac V-Series.R at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring and Porsche 963 on the streets of Long Beach.

The Acura, meanwhile, has been given a 4 kg increase in weight for Laguna, while retaining the same power output of 520 kW but receiving a 1 MJ increase in energy allocation.

Porsche’s GTP car retains the same energy of 907 MJ from Long Beach but gains 2 kg of weight and loses 1 kW of power, with the Cadillac getting a 1 kg reduction, 2 kW power decrease and 1 MJ energy reduction.

The only performance-related BoP change in the GT ranks is with the BMW M4 GT3, which receives a 10 kg weight increase and 4.5 kW (6 horsepower) boost in average power across RPM levels.

Additionally, the McLaren 720S GT3 Evo will have a 5-liter reduction in fuel capacity.
