Paul Miller Racing will make the move from GTD to GTD Pro, having confirmed plans of fielding its entry in the top production-based ranks of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship next year.
The Georgia-based squad, which currently leads the GTD points standings with Bryan Sellers and Madison Snow at the wheel of a BMW M4 GT3, has yet to announce details of its 2024 program that will see the team take on the likes of Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports and the Multimatic-run factory Ford Mustang GT3 program.
“I can confirm that Paul Miller Racing are committed to running a GTD Pro effort in 2024,” team manager Mitchell Simmons told Sportscar365.
“We are excited about the challenge a step up in class brings to our program and I know the entire team is looking forward to competing at that level.”
Sellers and Snow have combined for three GTD class wins this year, often times mixed within the results of the GTD Pro entries, owing to the strength of the team and longtime driver pairing, which are in their seventh season together.
In addition to the factory supported and works Corvette and Mustang entries, the GTD Pro grid is expected to see further growth, as Kellymoss by Riley has also signaled intentions of stepping up, while others such as Vasser Sullivan and Pfaff Motorsports are expected to return.
The team’s step up to GTD Pro comes despite IMSA maintaining its driver rating requirements for the GTD class after a push from several teams and manufacturers to mandate a Bronze-rated driver in each lineup.
