TechSport Claims First Nissan GT4 Win at Sebring

TechSport Racing gave the Nissan Z NISMO GT4 its first victory in Pirelli GT4 America competition with Michai Stephens and Jonathan Neudorf coming out on top in Saturday’s opening round of the weekend at Sebring International Raceway.

Stephens took the No. 23 Nissan to a 3.673-second win over the pole-sitting No. 28 RS1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport of Eric Filgueiras and John Capestro-Dubets.

The 60-minute contest, which featured an early race full-course caution, featured hard-fought racing up front, with the No. 999 Hanley Motorsports Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO of Parker Thompson and Daniel Hanley completing the overall and Silver class podium in third.

The No. 97 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT4 of Kenton Koch and Kevin Boehm was fourth at the line, with the No. 51 AutoTechnic Racing BMW duo of Zac Anderson and Colin Garett completing the top-five.

Pro-Am class honors went to the No. 7 ACI Motorsports Porsche of Kay van Berlo and Curt Swearingin, thanks to a late charge by the Dutchman on the No. 635 RySpec Mercedes-AMG GT4 of Dan Dyszelski, who had been leading at the time.

It came after Alex Vogel spun his No. 43 P1 Groupe Mercedes-AMG from the class lead with less than 20 minutes to go.

The No. 9 Blackdog Racing Nissan of Tony Gaples and Max Root completed the Pro-Am class podium in third.

RS1, meanwhile, picked up the win in the Am class with Austin and Roland Krainz taking their Porsche to victory lane.

The second and final GT4 America race of the weekend is scheduled for Sunday at 3 p.m. EDT, with live coverage on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel and on Twitch.
