Eric Filgueiras said he’s hoping to end the era of the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport on top, as one of the most successful drivers to have raced the GT4-spec Cayman in North American competition.

With 17 wins, the 32-year-old Floridian has more class victories with the latest-generation Cayman, which debuted in 2022, than any other driver between SRO America and IMSA-sanctioned competition.

Filgueiras, who also has two Pirelli GT4 America Silver class titles to his credit, is three wins clear of recently crowned Michelin Pilot Challenge GS champion Stevan McAleer with the RS Clubsport model.

While Jason Hart has the most all-time wins with the Cayman platform since its launch in 2016, Filgueiras has achieved the most success over the last five years with the GT4 model, which is being replaced by the Porsche 911 GT4 R beginning next year.

“It’s hard to imagine my career without the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport,” said Filgueiras. “This car gave me the chance to show what I can do and make a name for myself.

“I’m grateful for everything it has given me, from racing with so many different teams and teammates to coaching other drivers in series like Porsche Sprint Challenge. I’m honored to be part of this car’s history.”

Filgueiras will make the switch from the No. 52 Kellymoss entry to joining Porsche Mobil 1 Female Driver Program member Erika Hoffmann in the No. 73 Porsche for this weekend’s pair of season-ending rounds at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The foundation of Filgueiras’s success with the RS Clubsport came in 2022 when he teamed with McAleer at RS1 to win 11 of the 14 GT4 America Silver class races, en route to the first of two titles.

That same year, the pair won the season-opening BMW M Endurance Challenge at Daytona in Pilot Challenge competition.

Filgueiras added five more Silver class wins in 2024, this time alongside John Capestro-Dubets in the No. 28 RS1 Porsche, which also won the championship that year.

“Eric’s record in the Cayman speaks for itself, and we’re excited to have him alongside Erika for the final race weekend of this car’s era,” said Kellymoss team co-owner Andy Kilcoyne.

“He brings tremendous experience with the platform, but just as importantly, he understands what it takes to compete and win at this level.

“Indianapolis is an important weekend for Erika and our program, and I think Eric is a great fit to help us finish the season strong while giving the Cayman the sendoff it deserves.”
