Ligier Reveals Updated LMP3 Car

Ligier has unveiled an updated version of its LMP3 challenger, which will be powered by a twin-turbo V6 engine and is set for a competition debut in 2025.

The new car, named the JS P325, has been described by the French manufacturer as “an adaptation” of its current JS P320 platform, which debuted in 2020.

As revealed last year, the next generation of LMP3 cars, which are set to be homologated from 2025 to 2029, will be powered by an ORECA-developed twin-turbocharged V6 engine.

The outgoing JS P320, which is currently primarily still active in the European Le Mans Series, Michelin Le Mans Cup as well as the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, has been the most successful car of the LMP3 generation introduced in 2020.

It took three ELMS LMP3 teams’ titles with United Autosports and Cool Racing, while examples entered by Riley Motorsports and CORE Autosport took all three class titles in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship when it formed part of the series from 2021 to 2023.

Ligier has stated that the new car is set to debut in the ELMS and Le Mans Cup next year.
