Toni Vilander and Rasmus Lindh will complete DragonSpeed’s lineup in its new Ferrari 296 GT3 for the Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Motul Petit Le Mans, it has been confirmed.
Vilander and Lindh join the previously confirmed Henrik Hedman in the GTD entry that will contest the final two races of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season.
The all-Scandinavian lineup will sport the No. 56 in the six-hour Michelin Endurance Cup round as well as the season-ending ten-hour season finale at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, which has also been confirmed for the Elton Julian-led squad.
It will mark Vilander’s first WeatherTech Championship start since the 2022 Petit Le Mans.
“I don’t know if I ever left, but but I very happy to get back to racing in GT and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship together with DragonSpeed,” said Vilander.
“It’s been quite a long time since I been actively in a race car. I have done it occasionally over the last few seasons but I feel my driving shape [will] be quite good.
“I don’t know the Indianapolis track before but as we have a Ferrari Challenge race weekend before, the plan is to do some laps and then be ready for the IMSA race week.
“I have some information, I am taking him realistically but every time I put the helmet on, I want to do well.”
While Vilander will be making his team debut, Lindh contested both the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring and Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen in DragonSpeed’s LMP2 entry.
“I am looking forward for the new exciting challenge in a new car and in GT racing,” he said. “Obviously doing it together with DragonSpeed is great, as I have been racing with the team since the beginning of the year.”
