Hindman Takes Second Consecutive Pole for RS1 at Indy

Trent Hindman took his second straight IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge pole position ahead of this afternoon’s Indianapolis Motors Speedway 120 aboard the No. 28 RS1 Porsche 718 GT4 RS Cluubsport he shares with Stevan McAleer.

As only driver to dip below the one-minute and thirty second mark, Hindman’s 1:29.933 was good enough to outpace Team TGM’s Paul Holton by 0.583 seconds. The initial margin between the two was just over three tenths before the RS1 driver improved on his already pace-setting time.

Nate Cicero brought his No. 13 Ford Mustang GT4 up to third on the timing sheets with Michael de Quesada’s No. 69 Motorsports in Action McLaren Artura GT4 fourth quickest.

Kellymoss with Riley’s Michael McCarthy rounded out the top-five in his GT4 RS Clubsport.

Mid-Ohio winner Todd Coleman went off at Turn 7 just before the checkered flag but appeared to continue without major incident.

Dai Yoshihara claimed the TCR class pole position for Montreal Motorsports in a red flag-impacted qualifying.

Multiple TCR cars spent time the top of the times over the course of the 15-minute session, with Yoshihara making multiple improvements, before ultimately setting his 1:33.116 benchmark lap time before the red flag effectively ended the session.

Chris Miller’s No. 17 Unitronic/JDC-Miller MotorSports Audi RS3 LMS TCR finished 0.111 seconds down on the Japanese driver’s time, with the No. 89 HART FL5 Honda of Tyler Chambers third fastest.

The Bryan Herta Autosport with Curb Agajanian entry of Preston Brown qualified fourth, with the No. 55 Gou Racing Audi completing the top-five.

The No. 73 Racers Edge Motorsports Honda Civic FK7 TCR of Daniel Wu went off track at Turn 6 just before the red flag was flown for Taylor Hagler’s stricken No. 77 Bryan Herta Autosport with Curb Agajanian Hyundai Elantra N TCR at Turn 12.

As a result of bringing out the red, Hagler lost her two fastest laps, despite having setting times near the top prior to her off-course excursion.
