Robert Noaker led championship rival Tyler Maxson in the second and final practice session for this week’s pair of season-ending Mustang Challenge rounds at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Noaker recorded a Wednesday-best lap time of 1:34.593 in his Dark Horse class championship-leading No. 13 Ford Mustang Dark Horse R to edge out teammate and title rival Tyler Maxson by 0.485 seconds.

Reid Sweeney was third on the time charts, followed by the No. 2 entry of Max Opalski, which had an incident in Turn 6 to bring out the session’s only red flag.

Opalski did not re-appear for the remainder of the 30-minute session.

The No. 22 McCumbee McAleer Racing entry of Jeremy Fletcher, who topped Wednesday’s opening session, completed the top-five in the afternoon.

Zachary Lee, meanwhile, led the way in the Dark Horse Legends category, setting the eighth quickest time overall.

Qualifying is set to get underway Thursday at 8 a.m. EDT, followed by Race 1 at 1:15 p.m. EDT, which will be streamed live on Peacock, IMSA.tv and Ford Performance’s YouTube channel.
