Volante Rosso has announced plans to contest next month’s Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour with the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 with which it contested the latter part of last year’s Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS season.
The No. 14 car will be the first Aston Martin to feature on the grid of the Intercontinental GT Challenge season opener since 2020, when the British marque was represented by the R-Motorsport and Garage 59 teams.
Volante Rosso debuted its previous-spec Vantage in the third round of the Fanatec GT Australia season at Queensland Raceway after signing a deal to become the manufacturer’s official partner team for the Australasia region.
However, it skipped the season finale at Bathurst following the technical issues it experienced in the preceding three-hour endurance race at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Drivers for the No. 14 car will be confirmed at a later date.
“We are really looking forward to getting back to Bathurst for the 12 Hour,” said Volante Rosso team owner Josh Hunt.
“The race is one of the highlights of the Australian and international motorsport calendar and for our team, we feel proud and privileged to be involved.
“We only raced a handful of events with the Aston Martin last year, and we feel we have got a good handle on its character and performance.
“The final make-up of the driver line-up and the look of the car is coming together, and we can’t wait to reveal the details of our Bathurst attack.”
