Tresor Attempto Racing has withdrawn from the Michelin 24H Dubai after the No. 99 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II suffered heavy damage in crash during qualifying.

Team owner Arkin Aka confirmed to Sportscar365 that the team will not take part in the 20th edition of the Middle Eastern enduro, bringing the GT3 field for the event down to 30 cars.

The No. 99 car was damaged heavily after Zhou Bihuang crashed in an incident involving the No. 11 Hofor Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 that resulted in a stoppage of some 40 minutes due to barrier repairs.

While Attempto has a spare chassis on site at the Dubai Autodrome, Aka explained that the team opted not to press that into action in order to save it for next week’s Michelin 6H Abu Dhabi at Yas Marina Circuit.

Bihuang was due to share the car with Lorenzo Patrese, Dennis Marschall, Yi Deng and Alex Aka.
