Jon Miller and Lance Bergstein have made the switch to Bryan Herta Autosport for the remainder of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season beginning this weekend at Road America.
The driving duo of the No. 18 Hyundai Elantra N TCR had been most recently associated with Victor Gonzalez Racing Team, which since announced a switch from Hyundai to CUPRA TCR machinery for the rest of the year.
While Gonzalez had previously told Sportscar365 that the No. 18 entry was “parked” Bergstein has taken his car to the winningest Hyundai team in IMSA history to continue his campaign.
“We are very happy to welcome Lance and Jon to the BHA team for the remainder of this season,” said team co-owner Bryan Herta.
“Having raced the Elantra N TCR all season to date we know they are ready to take advantage of their experience and deliver some great results, which will be crucial as the championships for driver, team and manufacturer are sure to go down to the wire.”
Bergstein said: “We had a rocky start to the season but what was clear was that the Hyundai Elantra N TCR is a fantastic package on track when it is in the window.
“I am looking forward to finishing the season with strong results.
“Being supported by a top tier organization like BHA that executes at a high level every weekend is a privilege. I’m looking forward to the new beginning at Road America and finishing this season strong.”
Miller added: “Lance and I are thrilled to join Bryan Herta Autosport for the rest of the IMSA TCR season. It’s never easy making a mid-season change.
“Bryan and his team have been a huge asset to our Hyundai program throughout the year already, so it’s a bit of a dream come true that the stars aligned to race under their tent.
“With all of the knowledge, experience and opportunities for success that BHA offers, we can’t wait to get started at Road America.”
The addition of the No. 18 entry under the BHA stables means the team will now field five Hyundai TCR cars.
