Quinn Tops Spa FP1 for Algarve Pro

Alex Quinn led the way in the first Free Practice session for this weekend’s European Le Mans Series 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, putting Algarve Pro Racing atop the time sheets.

Quinn, in the No. 20 Oreca 07 Gibson, reeled off a chart-topping 2:01.091 lap time in the LMP2 Pro-Am entry to edge out the LMP2 pace-setting No. 43 Inter Europol Competition Oreca of Nick Yelloly by 0.392 seconds.

Dani Juncadella was third quickest in the Genesis Magma Racing ‘trajectory program’ No. 18 IDEC Sport entry, with Bent Viscaal and Mathias Beche completing the overall top five for Proton Competition and TDS Racing, respectively.

LMP3 was paced by the No. 8 Team Virage Ligier JS P325 Toyota of Rik Koen, while Wayne Boyd topped the time charts in LMGT3 in his No. 23 United Autosports McLaren 720S GT3 Evo.

Boyd’s 2:17.981 lap time was 0.149 seconds quicker than the second-placed No. 60 Proton Competition Porsche 911 GT3 R of Alessio Picariello.

Miguel Molina was third in class aboard the No. 74 Kessel Racing Ferrari 296 GT3.

FP2 is on tap for 9 a.m. CEST (3 a.m. EST) with qualifying later in the afternoon.
