The No. 51 Random Vandals BMW M4 GT3 EVO has been stripped of its pole position for Saturday’s Indianapolis 8 Hour presented by AWS after it was found to have been underweight in post-qualifying technical inspection.

It has handed pole to Jules Gounon and the No. 80 Lone Star Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo for the Intercontinental GT Challenge and GT World Challenge America powered by AWS season finale.

Issued in a techical infraction bulletin on Friday evening, the stewards found Philipp Eng’s BMW to not have met the “published BoP weight” post-Pole Shootout.

As a result, the car will start from tenth on the grid, the last place position from cars eligible for the Pole Shootout.

A revised starting grid has yet to be published, which has also seen the No. 6 Dollahite Racing Ford Mustang GT3 moved to the back due to its drivers not qualifying in the nominated order.
