Aurora Straus and Kenny Murillo, who are due to get married later this month, will make their respective returns to IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge competition next year, as co-drivers of a Murillo Racing-entered Mercedes-AMG GT4.
Announced on Wednesday, Straus and Murillo will race with backing from P1 Motor Club, a new 650-acre private motorsports country club opening in Port St. Lucie, Fla., where Straus serves as a founding partner and business development leader of the facility.
Murillo, meanwhile, was one of the technical architects behind P1’s 4.5-mile flagship circuit, along with circuit design firms Tilke and Apex Circuit Design.
“I’m so grateful to Richard Mille, P1 Motor Club, and all of our returning partners for bringing this program together,” said Straus. “At my last IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge start, Kenny and I were lined up in second and third against each other.”
Murillo, also an engineer and team manager, is a former Pirelli GT4 America Silver class champion and earned multiple Pilot Challenge wins with his family-run team in the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
He spent the past year working as an engineer for Porsche Carrera Cup North America squad JDX Racing.
The 2026 season will mark Murillo Racing’s return to competition after two years away.
“Getting back to IMSA feels like unfinished business,” said Murillo, who finished third in the GS championship in 2023. “It’s like coming home to return behind the wheel with Murillo Racing in a Mercedes-AMG once again.
“And driving with Aurora is a dream come true. We’ve both cheered each other on for eight years now and fought for our own championships, but now we get to do it together.”
