Advance Motorsports will make its Pirelli GT4 America debut this year, with the Chicago area-based team fielding a McLaren Artura GT4 for Austin Jurs.
Run by father-and-son Todd and Austin, the 18-year-old Jurs holds previous experience in the Trans Am TA2 ranks and has built a significant social media following in his goal of reaching top-level sports car racing.
“Racing GT cars has been a lifelong dream of mine, and to now compete in Pirelli GT4 America is incredibly special,” he said. “Doing this alongside my father with Advance Motorsports makes it even more meaningful, and I’m beyond excited to get things started.”
Todd Jurs added: “This season marks a major step forward for Advance Motorsports. Competing in Pirelli GT4 America with the McLaren Artura GT4 allows us to showcase our program at one of the highest professional GT levels in the country.
“We’re committed to showing up prepared, competitive, and focused on long-term success within the series.”
In addition to his driving duties, Austin will serve as co-owner of the team, which was founded in 2020.
His co-driver has yet to be announced, although the team tested Spanish rising talent Laura Camps in a recent outing at Sebring International Raceway.
The GT4 America season kicks off on March 27-29 at Sonoma Raceway.
