ABT has revealed strong lineups for its pair of Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2s for this year’s Nürburgring 24, with past winners Nicky Catsburg and Nick Yelloly reuniting to both race the Italian car for the first time.

The Red Bull-liveried No. 84 Lamborghini will be piloted entirely by Lamborghini factory drivers with Mirko Bortolotti and Luca Engstler back for another attack with ABT, while they will be joined by new Lamborghini recruit Patric Niederhauser.

But the second ABT car, adorned with Schaeffler green colors, will be crewed by an intriguing lineup that comprises factory driver Marco Mapelli, alongside 2020 N24 winners Yelloly and Catsburg who both triumphed when they shared a ROWE Racing BMW M6 GT3.

Catsburg will be aiming for a third N24 victory with a third different manufacturer, having also won with a Frikadelli Ferrari 296 GT3 in 2023.

“We are delighted to have put together such a formidable lineup once again,” said team boss Martin Tomczyk.

“The continuity with our returning drivers gives us strength, and the new additions bring fresh momentum and additional experience. They all want the same thing: to win this race.

“We still have unfinished business with the Nürburgring. We want to win this race, and with this team and these cars we have the best possible foundation to do so.

“But we know the competition is fierce and the Nordschleife has its own rules.”

For ABT, the Huracan GT3 EVO2 entries represent a split program for this year as the squad is due to field a pair of the new Temerario GT3s in the DTM.

It finished fifth in last year’s N24 with a Huracan GT3 EVO2 crewed by Mapelli, Engstler and Christian Engelhart.
