Former single-seater star Sergio Sette Camara will swap to the LMGT3 ranks for his second campaign in the European Le Mans Series this year after being announced as part of Iron Lynx’s Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo lineup.
The 27-year-old Brazilian was a race winner in FIA Formula 2, finishing fourth in 2019, before becoming a regular on the Formula E grid.
But he then made the switch to endurance racing last year, placing eighth in the ELMS LMP2 Pro-Am rankings in a Nielsen Oreca 07 Gibson, alongside making selected GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS appearances in a Comtoyou Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3.
Sette Camara now switches to Mercedes-AMG machinery in the ELMS, joining the already-announced Rui Andrade and Ameerh Naran as part of an all-new Iron Lynx crew in its No. 63 car.
Lorcan Hanafin, Martin Berry and Fabian Schiller finished seventh in the class standings for the team last year during its first campaign with Mercedes-AMG machinery, but Iron Lynx topped the LMGT3 division in 2024 when fielding a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2.
“I believe we make a strong lineup and that we fight for good results throughout the season,” said Sette Camara.
“I’ve already done a few tests with the team and I felt at home.”
Team boss Andrea Piccini said he had been “really impressed” with Sette Camara from those initial tests with Iron Lynx.
“He is quick and really experienced, but he also has a humble and smart approach that makes him a great team player,” said Piccini.
“We think he will positively impact on the dynamics of the entire car’s lineup and we are looking forward to working together on a race weekend.”
