Matteo Cressoni has been released from the hospital following an overnight stay for observation after Sunday’s late-race accident in the FIA WEC Six Hours of Sao Paulo.

The Italian, driving the No. 90 8Star Motorsports Ferrari F458 Italia, was collected in the massive shunt by Mark Webber.

Cressoni was admitted to Bandeirantes hospital for overnight observation, the same hospital that Webber was transported to and remains at, also for observation.

Cressoni, who was sharing the Ferrari with Gianluca Roda and Paolo Ruberti, told his team that he was hit by Webber’s Porsche 919 Hybrid only after the Porsche was careering towards him at high speed.

The cause for the accident has not yet been determined.
