OAK Racing team TOTAL topped the time charts on Friday in Malaysia, as Asian Le Mans Series teams prepare for Sunday’s season-ending Three Hours of Sepang.

Champion elect Ho-Pin Tung led the way in the opening session, turning a 1:58.667 lap time in the Morgan-Judd he’ll share with fellow champion David Cheng and Yuan Bo, who makes his LMP2 debut this weekend.

Tung’s time edged out the Eurasia Motorsport Oreca 03 Nissan of James Winslow by more than one second, with Winslow recording a best time of 1:59.878, which came in the second session.

Marco Seefried was quickest in GT, thanks to a 2:06.158 lap time in his No. 92 Team AAI BMW Z4 GT3, a time that was also set in the opening official session.

Asian Le Mans Series debutant Jonathan Venter, meanwhile, led the way in the CN class, with a 2:05.260 lap recorded in the No. 77 Craft-Bamboo Racing Ligier JS 53 Evo.

All eight cars recorded times during the day, although an issue for the Team Avelon Wolf GB08 prevented it from turning laps in the opening session.

A final practice session is scheduled for Saturday, followed by qualifying.
