OAK Racing Team TOTAL will start on the pole for Sunday’s Three Hours of Sepang, following a close qualifying session today for the season-ending Asian Le Mans Series round.

Ho-Pin Tung set the fastest lap in the session, pedaling his No. 1 Morgan-Judd to a quick lap of 1:56.875. Tung’s time was just 0.104 seconds quicker than the No. 27 Eurasia Motorsport Oreca 03 Nissan of James Winslow, who will start second.

Craft-Bamboo Racing bounced back from a mechanical issue in Friday’s Free Practice to grab pole in CN, thanks to a 2:04.687 lap time by newcomer Jonathan Venter.

Sean Hudspeth was second quickest in the No. 21 Team Avelon Formula Wolf GB08, which had engine issues on Friday as well.

The GT pole went to Team AAI’s Marco Seefried, with the German turning a best lap of 2:05.078 in his No. 92 BMW Z4 GT3.

The season-ending Three Hours of Sepang is set for Sunday at 1 p.m. local.
