Taylor Quickest Again in Final CTMP Practice

Ricky Taylor topped the time charts again for the second IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship practice session of the weekend prior to qualifying for Sunday’s Chevrolet Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

The Cadillac factory driver on loan improved on his 1:08.080 from Friday afternoon to set a 1:07.812 in the No. 52 Bryan Herta Autosport with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca 07 Gibson.

Taylor was 0.141 seconds quicker than the second-placed No. 43 Inter Europol Competition Oreca of Tom Dillmann, with Mathias Beche making a late-session improvement to third in the No. 11 TDS Racing entry.

Alex Quinn and Dane Cameron completed the overall top-five for CrowdStrike by APR and AO Racing, respectively.

GTD Pro was led by the No. 14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 of Jack Hawksworth, thanks to a 1:15.090 lap time.

It was 0.013 seconds quicker than the No. 64 Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang GT3 EVO of Ben Barker, who led the majority of the session.

The pair of Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.Rs were third and fourth in class, respectively.

Lorenzo Patrese put the No. 34 Conquest Racing Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo quickest in GTD, rebounding from an accident on Friday.

The Frenchman was 0.098 seconds quicker than the No. 12 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 of Benjamin Pedersen, with Danny Formal third quickest in class in the No. 45 Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2.

The 90-minute session didn’t see any major incidents, aside from a spin by the No. 2 United Autosports LMP2 entry of Phil Fayer in the opening minutes.

Tommy Milner also looped his No. 4 Corvette in Moss Corner in the closing 30 minutes.
