Corvette, Temerario GT3 Get Added Weight for Indy

Both the GTD Pro title-contending Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R and Lamborghini Temerario GT3 have been hit with significant weight additions for this weekend’s TireRack Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Confirmed in the latest round of Balance of Performance adjustments by IMSA, the Corvette gets a 18kg weight increase and the Temerario GT3, which is on a two-race win streak in class, has been handed 14kg additional weight since its victory in last month’s Michelin GT Challenge at Virginia International Raceway.

While the Temerario GT3 also loses 5 percent of power at speeds below 190 km/h, it does receive a 2.3 percent power increase at speeds above 200 km/h. This compares similarly to the Corvette, which also has a Stage 2 power increase in the form of 2.8 percent.

Other GT cars affected negatively be weight include a 20kg addition for the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo and the Ford Mustang GT3 EVO, which gets 6kg added.

Crucially, the BMW M4 GT3 EVO, which holds a narrow lead in the GTD Pro standings with the No. 1 Paul Miller Racing car, has received a 3kg weight break and no significant power swing.

While the Lexus RC F GT3 remains at its minimum weight of 1356 kg, it gets a Stage 1 power decrease of 2.2 percent and Stage 2 increase of 3.3 percent.

All GT cars, except for the Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo, meanwhile, have received increased minimum rear wing angles.

There have been no significant BoP changes in GTP, with the biggest adjustment being a 9kg weight reduction for the Acura ARX-06.

Both specifications of Porsche 963s get 4kg increases in minimum weight, while there have been minor power changes for the Acura (-0.5 percent, Stage 1), BMW M Hybrid V8 (+0.7 percent, Stage 2), Cadillac V-Series.R (-0.2 percent, Stages 1 and 2), 2026-spec Porsche (+1.6 percent, Stage 1 and -0.2 percent, Stage 2) and 2025-spec Porsche (-0.4 percent, Stage 1, +0.2 percent Stage 2).

The Battle on the Bricks, which revers to a standard two-hour and 40-minute race after being a six-hour Michelin Endurance Cup round for the last two years, marks the penultimate round of the WeatherTech Championship season.
