Nürburgring 24 Part of New Mini-Series of Nordschleife Races

The Nürburgring 24 will form part of a new four-event mini-series of races around the Nordschleife next year that will all be run to the same regulations, while a Prologue event has been created ahead of the N24.

The German endurance classic has enjoyed renewed interest, especially with four-time Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen tackling this year’s edition, which featured an expanded entry list of 161 cars.

Organizer ADAC Nordrhein is seeking to capitalize upon this by giving teams and drivers further opportunities to compete on the full Nordschleife circuit.

After next year’s N24 is held on May 27-30, there will be additional races held to the same rules as part of the existing ADAC Eifel (July 30 – Aug. 1) and 1000 km (Sept. 10-12) contests.

As well as the traditional N24 Qualifiers, held four weeks before the main event, there will also be a new two-day Prologue on Apr. 2-3 to give teams a further opportunity to prepare for the 24 hours.

“We are responding to the wishes of many teams who wanted a compact and focused preparation for the ‘race of the year’ on the Nürburgring Nordschleife,” said Walter Hornung, Head of Sports at ADAC Nordrhein.

“At the same time, this allows us to extend the extremely positive development of the Nürburgring 24 over the past few years to other events that are organized entirely according to the 24h model.”

Prize money is due to be on offer for the additional races and teams that enter the full ADAC 24h Nürburgring Series will benefit from a reduced entry fee and guaranteed place on the N24 grid.

Previously, many GT3 teams used the early rounds of Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie to prepare for the N24 before entries in the top class then significantly reduced later in the season.

Sportscar365 understands that the launch of the ADAC Nordrhein-run series is in direct competition to NLS, which has yet to announce its 2027 schedule.
