Pirelli GT4 America’s three-hour endurance race will move to Road America next year, it has been revealed.

Communicated to teams ahead of this weekend’s season finale, the relocation of the race, formerly known as the Lone Star Enduro, comes as the headline GT World Challenge America powered by AWS and Intercontinental GT Challenge eight-hour endurance race relocates to Circuit of The Americas.

“The event will serve as a centerpiece of the championship’s second half, bringing an extended endurance format to one of North America’s most celebrated road courses,” a statement from SRO America read.

The change follows competitor feedback, after a survey was issued during the most recent event at Barber Motorsports Park asking teams if they would like to keep the GT4 America enduro at COTA, as a Sunday headline race, or shift to Road America.

A name for the three-hour race at the Wisconsin circuit on Aug. 27-29, which will pay double points, has yet to be announced.

The only other expected change to the series, which features a season-high 34 entries this weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, will be a transition to a Friday-Sunday schedule after largely being run in a Thursday-Saturday format this year.

“This adjustment will better align the championship with other SRO Motorsports America series, streamline the event weekend and enhance the overall fan experience,” the statement added.

The 2027 GT4 America season kicks off at Sonoma Raceway on April 2-4.
