A season-high 34 entries are set for this weekend’s Pirelli GT4 America season finale at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, with two of the three class championships to potentially be clinched in Race 1 and another category with a wide-open title race.
RS1’s Luca Mars and Spencer Pumpelly hold command of the Silver class title, with a 35-point lead over the RAFA Racing Team duo of Westin Workman and Tyler Gonzalez, who broke Mars and Pumpelly’s seven-race class win streak last time out at Barber Motorsports Park.
A 25-point lead following Saturday’s opening race of the weekend would ensure the title goes the way of the duo in the No. 28 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.
The margin in Pro-Am stands at 41 points between leader Sam Craven and Blackdog Racing’s Michael Cooper and Tony Gaples, with the Random Vandals Racing driver holding a similar scenario to the Silver class for Race 1.
It could not be any different of a situation in the Am division, however, with five driver pairings separated by just 25 points, with TechSport Racing’s Frankie Muniz and Tyler Stone holding just a single-point lead over the BimmerWorld pairing of James Clay and James Walker Jr.
This weekend’s entry has been boosted with the addition of six cars that were not at Barber, including several new entries.
Longtime IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge entrant CSM makes its series debut with a Silver class Aston Martin Vantage GT4 Evo for Ismaeel Ellahi and Ayrton Houk.
As previously reported by Sportscar365, Random Vandals will add a fourth BMW M4 GT4 EVO for team owner Paul Sparta and Patrick Hamner in Am.
Copeland Motorsports has added a Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2 for John Dean and Lucas Rowell, while both the No. 72 RAFA Racing Toyota of Anthony Geraci and Kenny Schmied as well as the No. 73 Kellymoss Porsche of Erika Hoffmann returns to action and will be joined by Eric Filgueiras.
The No. 5 OGH Motorsports McLaren Artura GT4 for Sean Gibbons and Sam Owen is also back after several races away.
The Am class title-contending No. 21 ACI Motorsports entry of brothers Michael and Alex Garcia will remain with a Porsche, while Zachry Lee is listed to replace Jenson Altzman in the No. 11 McCumbee McAleer Racing Ford Mustang GT4 alongside Carlton Macfarlane.
Track action begins on Wednesday with two test sessions, while a single practice session is on tap for Thursday, followed by final practice on Friday morning and qualifying in the afternoon.
Race 1 is scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m. EST, with Race 2 on Sunday at 10:25 a.m., with both 60-minute races to be streamed live on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel.
