Ayhancan Guven set the quickest time in the first on-track action for Saturday’s Desder Indianapolis 8 Hour, putting the Pro-Am class GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo on top in the Wednesday test session.

The Porsche factory driver took the No. 32 Porsche, still sporting its Buc-ee’s livery from the last GT World Challenge America powered by AWS round at Barber Motorsports Park, to a quick lap of 1:24.333.

It was 0.250 seconds quicker than the No. 99 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT3 EVO of Hampus Ericsson.

The No. 79 Tsunami RT Porsche, one of a half-dozen Intercontinental GT Challenge-specific entries in this weekend’s double season finale, was third on the overall time charts in the hands of Alex Fontana.

Archangel Motorsports’ McLaren 720S GT3 Evo was fourth quickest overall with Aaron Telitz while Robby Foley in the No. 29 Turner Motorsport BMW completed the top-five and the quickest of the Pro class entries.

Ferrari Hypercar driver Nicklas Nielsen made a late-session improvement to sixth quickest overall, and second in Pro, in the No. 12 AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo, which bumped the No. 64 Chicago Performance and Tuning Co. Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 to seventh.

The No. 9 TR3 Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Daniel Morad, the Riley Dickinson-driven No. 13 Kellymoss Porsche and No. 9 McCann Racing Porsche of Alessio Picariello completed the overall top-ten.

Benny Simonsen in the No. 163 AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo paced the Am class, which features a season-high three entries this weekend.

The 90-minute session had a red flag before the ten-minute mark when both the No. 31 Wright Motorsports Porsche of Dave Musial Jr. and the Jon Morley-drive No. 67 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari stopped on track.

The Am class Ferrari continued but the Pro-Am class Porsche, which sits second in the GTWC America class championship and features Porsche factory driver Laurin Heinrich this weekend, was brought back to the garage with drivetrain issues and did not rejoin.

A second 90-minute test session is on tap for Thursday at 10:20 a.m. EST, followed by Free Practice in the evening beginning at 6:50 p.m.

RESULTS: Test Session 1
