Twenty nine cars are set to take part in next weekend’s Six Hours of Fuji, the sixth round of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

The Japanese race will see Toyota return to a two-car squad for its home event, with Alex Wurz, Nicolas Lapierre and Kaz Nakajima at the wheel of the No. 7 car, joining the No. 8 Toyota TS030 Hybrid of Anthony Davidson, Sebastien Buemi and Stephane Sarrazin, which contested the last two rounds as a solo entry.

The LMP2 field has been boosted to 10 entries, thanks to the return of KCMG. The Hong Kong-based outfit, which currently leads the Asian Le Mans Series, will have Richard Bradley, Hiroshi Koizumi and Tsuigio Matsuda steer its Morgan-Nissan.

Another Asian prototype team to be on the LMP2 grid is Gainer International, which has joined forces with Greaves Motorsport to field the British squad’a Zytek Z11SN Nissan for drivers Katsuyuki Hiranaka, Masayuki Ueda and Bjorn Wirdheim.

The No. 45 OAK Racing Morgan-Nissan will see the return of Keiko Ihara for her home race, partnering with team boss Jacques Nicolet, while Shinji Nakano teams with Tor Graves and James Walker in the No. 25 G-Drive Racing by Delta-ADR Oreca 03 Nissan.

After leaving one of its Vantage V8s behind in America to begin pre-season testing, Aston Martin Racing has scaled back to a four-car effort for the remainder of the WEC season.

Fred Makowiecki has joined Darren Turner and Stefan Mucke in the No. 97 Aston Martin, while Pedro Lamy and Richie Stanaway have moved to the team’s No. 99 entry, which will also run in GTE-Pro. Paul Dalla Lana is not listed to drive in Fuji.

Perhaps the biggest news comes in GTE-Am, as Bruno Senna has joined Christoffer Nygaard and Kristian Poulsen in the No. 96 Aton Martin, replacing Nicki Thiim.

A new rule, requiring at least two Bronze or Silver-graded drivers per car in GTE-Am, has resulted in a shakeup in both the No. 95 Aston Martin and No. 67 IMSA Performance Matmut Porsche entries.

Silver-graded Jonny Adam has joined Jamie Campbell-Walter and Stuart Hall in the class-leading Aston, which is coming off back-to-back victories at Interlagos and COTA.

The French IMSA Performance squad, meanwhile, as added Silver driver Markus Palttala to its lineup of Raymond Narac and Jean-Karl Vernay.

Unrelated to the rules change, Ferrari F1 test driver Davide Rigon returns to 8Star Motorsports’ Ferrari F458 Italia with season-long drivers Enzo Potolicchio and Rui Aguas.
