Mike McGovern was fastest in the morning and Billy Johnson led the way in the afternoon for the second straight day as Ford Mustang Boss 302R drivers dominated Saturday’s Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge practice in the Roar Before the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway.

Johnson ran the fastest lap of the day in the No. 15 Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang Boss 302R co-driven by Scott Maxwell, running 1:56.513 (109.996 mph). On Friday, Johnson set an unofficial Grand Sport (GS) track record with a lap of 1:55.794.

McGovern – fastest in the opening session on both Friday and Saturday, was second in the No. 2 Jim Click Racing Ford Mustang 302R, running 1:56.808 (109.719 mph). He was followed by the Mustang of Bryan Ortiz, who ran 1:56.977 in the No. 00 Zero Zero Racing entry.

Fastest of the non-Ford contingent was Andy Lally, who ran 1:57.008 (109.531 mph) in the No. 08 Rebel Rock Racing Porsche Cayman.

The defending BMW Performance 200 Street Tuner (ST)-winning No. 56 Murillo Racing/Mosing Motorcars Porsche Cayman led both sessions. Eric Foss led the morning session with a lap of 2:05.278 (102.300 mph), while teammate Justin Piscitell was fastest in the afternoon, running 2:05.416 (102.188 mph).

Second was Andrie Hartanto, who ran 2:05.728 (101.934 mpg) in the No. 81 BimmerWorld BMW 328i, followed by Seth Thomas, 2:05.933 (101.768 mph) in the No. 38 Next Level European Porsche Cayman.
