Luis Bacardi’s Rum Bum Racing has confirmed its return to the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge for 2015, with Hugh and Matt Plumb sharing the team’s No. 13 Porsche 997 in GS in the season-opening BMW Performance 200 at Daytona.

The Joe Varde-led team, which will feature Nick Longhi as technical director, returns to the championship after a challenging 2014 season.

Rum Bum cited “a streak of foul racing fortunes, as well as challenging decisions from the Series’ technical and competition departments” that affected its 2014 season. Just last week, the team left the Roar Before the Rolex 24 test on Saturday early after limited running.

However, the team is optimistic the sanctioning body has made the necessary changes going into 2015 in order to once again contend for the GS class championship.

“Lu Bacardi and Rum Bum Racing have been loyal from the start, and now that the complex GRAND-AM/ALMS integration process has had time to settle in, IMSA has recently made significant and positive changes for the future in areas that Mr.Bacardi believes will result in a much better experience for everyone,” Matt Plumb said.

The Plumb brothers share the car together after Longhi co-drove most of last year, before moving into his new role prior to the Circuit of the Americas round of the season.
