Lowndes Joins Lago Racing for 24H Spa

Craig Lowndes will join Lago Racing for an all-Australian assault on the Total 24 Hours of Spa.

Lowndes raced an AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia in the 2015 edition of the Belgian classic, finishing third in the Pro-Am Cup and eighth outright.

The three-time V8 Supercar champion replaces Steven Richards in last year’s lineup, with Roger Lago, David Russell and Steven Owen giving it another shot this year in the Lago Racing Lambo.

The Australian team will upgrade to the new Reiter Engineering Lamborghini Gallardo R-EX.

“I learned so much last year and really wanted to go back and have another crack, and I have to thank Roger (Lago) for the opportunity,” said Lowndes.

“The driving lineup is incredibly strong … David (Russell) is very fast and very experienced in these cars, as is Steve (Owen), and they both drove this event with Roger last year, so they also know the track and the event, and what to expect.

“Our Lamborghini will be brand new, to the very latest Reiter spec, so it’ll be a weapon for sure.”
