Scuderia Villorba Corse Switches to Ligier JS P3

Scuderia Villobra Corse switches to Ligier JS P3 for 2016…

LMP3 Podium - ELMS 4 Hours of Red Bull Ring at Red Bull Ring - Spielberg - Austria

Scuderia Villorba Corse will make the switch from Ginetta to Ligier in 2016, with the Italian squad confirming an Onroak Automotive-built LMP3 car for the European Le Mans Series season.

The all-Italian lineup of Roberto Lacorte and Giorgio Sernagiotto, who scored two second place finishes last year, will continue.

“Switching to Ligier is a reinforcement of our firm belief in the LMP3 class effectiveness,” said team principal Raimondo Amadio.

“As planned, 2015 was a formative year. Now we aim to take advantage of that experience and with Roberto and Giorgio we can do a very good job.

“We mutually learned to work together on the same project and thanks to the development we are putting in practice inside our structure the team will be very well prepared for an exciting season.”

The team’s switch leaves only a single Ginetta LMP3, fielded by Lanan Racing, expected to be on the ELMS grid this year, which will be filled by more than a dozen Ligier JS P3s from various teams.
