Pirelli World Challenge will continue to be sanctioned by the SCCA, following a new multi-year extension agreement, made Thursday in St. Petersburg.

Sportscar365 has learned that a deal has been reached between WC Vision President and CEO Greg Gill and SCCA President Derrick Walker that will see the two organizations continue its partnership.

An official announcement is expected on Friday.

The agreement comes on the heels of a successful start to the 2016 PWC season last weekend in COTA, along with increased involvement from the SRO Motorsports Group.

The second round of the season for the GT/GTA/GT Cup and GTS classes takes place this weekend on the streets of St. Petersburg.
