Ozz Negri posted the fastest time in the third practice session for the Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, as his co-driver John Pew put the Michael Shank Racing Ligier JS P2 Honda in the wall 20 minutes later.

The final practice finally saw consistent dry conditions resulting in a considerable drop in the times, with Negri’s 1:10.522 being almost seven tenths faster than the time set by Jordan Taylor’s No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette DP yesterday.

Cars made optimal use of the available track before Pew put the pace-setting Ligier in the barriers in the final corner 13 minutes from the end, resulting in a lengthy red flag period that was only lifted one minute before the end of the session.

Pew got out of the car under his own steam and was evaluated and released from the medical center.

Jonathan Bomarito put the No. 55 Mazda in second and was followed by both Action Express and the Visit Florida Racing Corvette DPs.

Corvette Racing continued to show good pace and led the way in GT Le Mans, with Antonio Garcia completing a lap in 1:15.223 in the No. 3 Corvette C7.R, with both BMW Team RLL in second and third sandwiched by the sister No. 4 Corvette in fourth.

Once again, Renger van der Zande was quickest in Prototype Challenge in his No. 8 Starworks Motorsport Oreca FLM09, while Audi remained on top in GT Daytona with Andrew Davis leading the timing screens in the No. 6 Stevenson Motorsports Audi R8 LMS.

Qualifying gets underway at 3:40 p.m. E.T.
